I built Mudo because taking care of your mental health shouldn't feel like work.

I'm Aditya. Mudo is built by me alone — no team, no investors. Just one person and a frustration I couldn't stop thinking about.

Every mental health app I tried started the same way. How was your sleep? What activities did you do today? Rate your stress on a scale of 1 to 10. Choose from these twelve emotions. Add a journal entry. By the time I'd finished answering, I'd either forgotten what triggered the feeling in the first place — or I'd just close the app and not come back.

That friction is the enemy of consistency. And consistency is the entire point.

Taking care of your mental health isn't hard because you don't want to. It's hard because the moment you most need to — when you're anxious, overwhelmed, or just quietly off — is the exact moment you have the least energy to jump through hoops. The apps that ask the most from you are the ones you use the least.

That's the whole idea behind Mudo. You open the app, you tap how you feel, and you're done — in ten seconds or less. No onboarding. No journal prompts. No commitment beyond a single tap. The lower the barrier, the more consistent you become. And the more consistent you are, the more your data actually tells you something true.

After a week of logging, you start seeing things you'd never notice otherwise. When does your anxiety actually peak? Sunday evenings? After certain meetings? On days you didn't sleep well? These patterns only appear when you've been honest about the small, in-between moments — the ones you'd usually just let pass unnoticed.

There's something else Mudo does that I didn't fully expect when I built it. The history view — your visual timeline of past moods — becomes a kind of proof.

When you're in a hard stretch, your mind can convince you that every single day has been bad, that nothing is improving. The history argues back. It shows you the good days you've already forgotten. It shows you the difficult stretches that ended, the moments you thought wouldn't pass that did. It's not a cure — but seeing your own record makes it much harder to believe the version of the story where everything is dark.

Even opening the app counts. The habit of just checking in — pausing for ten seconds to acknowledge how you feel — is itself something. A small signal to yourself that your mental state is worth a moment of attention today.
